Courteney Bass Cox (previously Courteney Cox Arquette; born on June 15 1964) is an American actress and filmmaker. She received international recognition for her starring role in the role of Monica Geller on the NBC sitcom Friends that aired from 1994 to 2004. In honor of her performance in the show, she was awarded seven Screen Actors Guild Award nominations and won one. Gale Weathers, the horror film franchise Scream (1996-1999), was awarded another prize for her performance. She also starred in Family Ties (1987-1989), Lucy Spiller (1907-2008), and Jules Cobb (1909-2015) on ABC/TBS.
