David Amyrico Ortiz Arias, Dominican-American, former designated hitter (DH) and first baseman of Major League Baseball, was born on November 18, 1975. He was a major player for the Boston Red Sox in the American League (AL). After six years for the Minnesota Twins, with no significant outcomes, Ortiz was traded to the Red Sox. He played an important part during the 2004 World Series championship drought and was a champion in 2007 and 2013. The team also awarded him the World Series Most Valuable Player. He scored 41 runs and 128 RBI during the first five seasons of the team. Alongside winning the championships in 2007 as well as 2013 Ortiz was named the World Series Most Valuable Player in 2013.
