Eugenie "GenieBouchard Bouchard (/bu/'Sa/; French: Eugenie Bouchard born on February 25, 1994; pronunciation: [oZeni BuSaR]) is a Canadian tennis player. She was the first Canadian tennis player to make it to the final of the Grand Slam singles tournament. Bouchard was the winner of the 2012 Wimbledon girls title and was named the WTA's Newcomer of the Year. She also won the WTA Most Improved Player award. Bouchard reached a career highest ranking of No. Bouchard was just five years old when she started playing tennis. She was also a part of the Tennis Canada National Training Centre. Born in Westmount and went to The Study elementary school. In the school, she was introduced to Brian Mulroney, the former premier of Canada. She relocated to Florida during her 12th year of life with her family. They went to Fort Lauderdale's private school. Eugenie was introduced to Laura Robson, a tennis player, while Nick Saviano was her coach. The nickname she received was "the selected" by her siblings from then from that point.
