 Julia Scarlett Elizabeth Louis -Dreyfus Julia Scarlett Elizabeth Louis -Dreyfus, /'lu (born 13 January 1961), is an American actor, comedian and producer. She was the main character on Saturday Night Live (1982-1985), Seinfeld (89-1998), The New Adventures of Old Christine (2006), Veep (2012) as well as Veep (2012–2019). She is one of America's most successful actresses, having been awarded more Primetime Emmy Awards, more Screen Actors Guild Awards, and more nominations than any other performer. Her career began in comedy when she was a performer at The Practical Theatre Company in Chicago, Illinois. This led to her being a part in Saturday Night Live (1982-1985). Seinfeld was her breakout show in 1990, when she starred as Elaine Benes for nine seasons. The sitcom is one of the most popular and critically appreciated. Other television roles she has played include Christine Campbell in The New Adventures of Old Christine, which ran for five seasons on CBS;
