Karen Sheila Gillan, /'gIl@nwas born on the 28th of November 1987, and is an actress from Scotland. Scottish actress. She became famous for her work in British television and film, particularly for playing Amy Pond, a primary companion to the Eleventh Doctor in the science fiction series Doctor Who (2010-2013), for which she received several awards and nominations. Jane Lockhart and Ally were her first film roles in the romantic comedy Not Another Happy Ending (2013). In Britain she also appeared on the stage, first appearing in John Osborne’s play Inadmissible Evidence (2011) before making her Broadway debut with Time to Act (2013). She played the main actress in Selfie (2014) the film that was her first commercial success in the United States. Her international fame was achieved through playing Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero films Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.
