Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Brianne Clarkson was born April 24, 1982. She is an American author, singer-songwriter as well as a TV personality. She became famous after winning the first season of American Idol in 2002, which led to a record contract with RCA. Her debut single "A Moment Like This" topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and was the most-sold country single in 2002. It was released as part of her debut album Thankful (2003) which debuts on the top spot of the Billboard 200. Clarkson decided to reinvent herself and resigned from Idol management to focus on pop rock in the form of Breakaway (2004). It was accompanied by four US top ten hits - the title track, "Since U Been Gone", "Behind These Hazel Eyes", and "Because of You" - Breakaway sold over 12 million copies across the globe and earned two Grammy Awards.Clarkson was also in charge of the creative process for her third studio album, My December (2007), co-writing all of its tracks and becoming its executive producer. Her label wasn't thrilled with the album's more mellow rock songs and reluctantly promoted it.
