Kimila Ann Basinger, /'beIsING@r/BAY-sing@r born December 8th 1953) is an American actress. Basinger has been praised for her television and film work, earning numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award. Basinger was born on December 8, 1953, in New York. She then moved to Los Angeles in 1976, which is when she began acting on television. Basinger appeared in several television-produced films that included the remake of From Here To Eternity (1979) and her debut feature film with Hard Country (1981). She was hailed as a sex icon during the 1990s and 1980s, Basinger came to prominence because of her role as Bond girl Domino Petachi in Never Say Never Again (1983). Basinger earned a Golden Globe nomination in 1984 for her role in The Natural. She also was in 9 1/2 Weeks (1986) and Vicki Vale (1989) that remains the highest-grossing production in her entire career.
