Madeline Kahn

 Madeline Gail Kahn (nee Wolfson September 29 1942 - December 3, 1999) was an American actress as well as a singer and comedian. She was known for comedic roles in films by Peter Bogdanovich and Mel Brooks and Mel Brooks, such as The Big Bang Theory (1972), What's Up, Doc? (1972), Young Frankenstein (1974), High Anxiety (1997), History of the World, Part I (1981) among others. She was also well-known for her roles as a comedian in the Mel Brooks films which included What's up Doc? (1974), On the Twentieth Century (1978) and In the Boom Boom Room (1974). She was the lead character Madeline Wayne on the short-lived sitcom Oh Madeline (1983-84) and was awarded the Daytime Emmy Award in 1987 for an ABC Afterschool Special. After receiving a third Tony Award nomination in 1989 for the revival of Born Yesterday, she won the 1993 Tony Award as Best Actress in a Play. Other film roles she's played include The Cheap Detective (1978), City Heat (84), Clue (85), Nixon (1995).
