Thomas Lee Bass (born October 3, 1962) is an American musician, and a founding member of the heavy metal group Motley Crue. Lee is the long-term drummer for the band and also created Methods of Mayhem, a rapper-oriented metal group. He also has pursued solo projects. In the latter part of the 1970s, Suite 19 was a frequent performer at the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, along with other emerging groups like Quiet Riot and Van Halen. He met Nikki Sixx, the bassist of Sister and London. Sixx was developing a stage group that drew heavily on Sister's mix between occult imagery and a theatrical performance of heavy metal. Sixx became a fan of Lee's drumming. Lee, who was 6 2 1/2'' tall with a slim body, dropped his surname in the period of. Sixx and Lee created a new group after London was disbanded in 1981.
