Amy Adams

 American actor Amy Lou Adams was born August 20, 1974. She is well-known for her comedic and dramatic roles. She has been featured three times in the annual rankings of the top-paid actresses across the globe. She has been awarded numerous awards which include two Golden Globe Awards, in addition to nominations for six Academy Awards, seven British Academy Film Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards.Adams began her professional career as a dancer in the dinner theater. This was a path she pursued from 1994 to 1998. She made her debut in film as a support actress in the dark comedy Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). She appeared in guest roles on TV and played "mean girl" roles in feature films with low budgets. She was first seen in Steven Spielberg's biopic Catch Me If You Could (2002). However she was laid off for one year. Her breakthrough came when she played a loquacious pregnant woman in the comedy-drama independent Junebug (2005) in which she won her first Academy Award nomination.
