Anderson Hays Cooper, born on June 3, 1967, is an American broadcast journalist who hails from Vanderbilt. Anderson Cooper 360deg is his principal anchor for news. Cooper is also an CBS News correspondent for 60 Minutes. Cooper graduated from Yale University in 1989 with an undergraduate degree in arts and sciences. Cooper began his journeys across the globe, capturing footage of war-ravaged regions in the name of Channel One News. Cooper started his career with ABC News in 1995 as an editor. Then, he moved on to various positions within the network, such as anchors and reality show hosts. He also host fill-ins for talk shows as well as a host on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360deg in 2003. Cooper earned a name as a journalist who could cover the facts of news and events. Cooper's coverage of the devastating hurricane Katrina was the most notable of his popularity. Cooper was given the National Order of Honour and Merit for his reporting of Haiti's earthquake in 2010. This is the most prestigious honour given by the Haitian government.
