Kenneth Max Copeland, born on December 6, 1936, is an American televangelist , who is also an author and a member of the charismatic movement. Eagle Mountain International Church Inc. was founded by Copeland in 1967, is located in Tarrant County in Texas. Copeland's sermons are broadcast throughout the United States as well as internationally via the Victory Channel. Copeland is also the writer of numerous books and other resources. Copeland has been credited as preaching the prosperity gospel and is a part of the Word of Faith movement. Copeland states that the people who attend church will earn an "hundredfold return" for their investment when making a donation to God. Copeland has been criticized for making use of donations and tax-exempt status to finance a mansion and private jets, as well as other expensive purchases. He stated that followers of his would be healed from the disease. Copeland also stated that his followers must continue to give tithes, even if they lost their jobs because of the economic downturn caused by the epidemic. Then, he claimed that he had eradicated the virus and eliminated the pandemic.
