Carrie Marie Underwood (born March 10, 1983) is an American country singer. After being the winner of season four of American Idol 2005, she rose to fame. Her hit single "Inside Your Heaven" made her the only country artist to debut atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the only solo country singer in the 2000s to have one of the top songs on the Hot 100. Some Hearts, her debut album, was accompanied by the crossover singles "Jesus Take the Wheel" and "Before He Cheats", making it the biggest-selling solo female debut album in the history of country music. The album won her three Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist. The album that followed, Carnival Ride (2007) was one of the most significant opening weeks of all time for a female artist. It also received two Grammy Awards. The single "Cowboy Casanova" was her third studio album. It had one of the largest single-week upward movements in the Hot 100.
