Christopher Maurice Brown, born May 5, 1989 is an American dancer, singer actor, songwriter, and singer. According to Billboard Brown is considered to be the "King" of R&B. His style of music is called polyhedric. Brown's R&B is influenced by many other genres, such as hip hop and pop. The lyrics of his are heavily influenced by themes of sexuality and romance, speed life, as well as desires regret, desire, and conflict with emotions. Brown's charismatic stage presence has gained him a cult fan following. Brown was signed to Jive Records in 2004 and the self-titled debut album released in the year following. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) then declared the album triple platinum. Brown's first single "Run It!" reached the Billboard Hot 100 and was the first male artist to make it to the top of the charts since 1995.
