Dolly Rebecca Parton, born on January 19, 1946 is an American actor, singer, and songwriter. She is also a philanthropist actress, businessperson, and philanthropist. Her work in the field of country music is the main area of area of focus. Parton's popularity as a songwriter prompted her to release her first album in 1967, with Hello, I'm Dolly. This was followed by success throughout the 1960s, both as solo artist as well as with a series with Porter Wagoner, before she reached her peak sales during the 1970s and continued into the 1980s. While her 1990s albums were not well-received, she was able to make commercial success during the new millennium. She has since released albums under various independent labels, including Dolly Records. The label has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide.Parton's music includes Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)-certified platinum, gold and multi-platinum awards. 25 of her songs have made it to the top. 1 on the Billboard charts of country music, a record for a female artist (tied with Reba McEntire). The singer has scored 44 Top 10 Country Albums in her career which is an all-time record for any artist. In addition, she has earned 110 career charted singles over the last 40 years.
