Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born on April 15, 1990, is an English actress. Known for her roles in both blockbusters and independent films as well as for her women's rights activism, she's been awarded many awards, including a Young Artist Award and three MTV Movie Awards. Watson has been ranked as one of the top actresses in the world by Forbes and Vanity Fair, and was named among the top 100 most influential people around the globe by Time magazine in 2015.Watson attended the Dragon School and trained in acting at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts. After appearing in the Harry Potter films as Hermione Granger, Watson ascended to stardom as a child. She had previously only performed in school productions. Watson was also featured in the TV adaptation of Ballet Shoes (2008) and gave her voice to The Tale of Despereaux (2008).
