Jared Tristan Padalecki (born July 19 1982) is an American actor from the United States. He is best known for playing the role of Sam Winchester in the TV series Supernatural. He was born in Texas and was able to achieve stardom in the 2000s when he appeared on the TV series Gilmore Girls. Later, his appearances in movies New York Minute (2004), House of Wax (2006), and Friday the 13th (2009). Padalecki won Fox Broadcasting’s 1999 "Claim To Fame Contest". Then, he went to the Teen Choice Awards where he got a call from an agent. His first appearance was a small part in the 1999 film A Little Inside. In 2000, he got chosen as Dean Forester on the television show Gilmore Girls, a role he played until 2005. In the early 2000s Padalecki appeared in a variety of television-produced films, including Silent Witness, Close to Home and the Disney Channel Original Movie A Ring of Endless Light. Padalecki was uncredited as a school bully in the comedy Cheaper by the Dozen, which he portrayed after being requested by his fellow actor and friend Tom Welling, who played Charlie Baker and also the director of the movie who was looking for someone bigger than Charlie to take on the character.
