He is famous for his work as a prominent actor in biopic and period film. He has won many awards such as the Academy Award, British Academy Film Award and three Golden Globe Awards. The films he has made have earned over $7.2 billion globally in the year 2019. The actor has also been featured eight times on the annual list of the highest-paid actors worldwide. DiCaprio was born in Los Angeles and began his career in the commercial world on TV. He played a variety of recurring roles in television shows such as Parenthood during the 90s. The first film in which he starred appearance was in the role of Tobias Wolff, an author in This Boy's Life (1993). He was just 19 when he received praise for his portrayal of a boy who had disabilities that affect his development in the film What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993).
