Maya Moore

 Maya April Moore, born June 11, 1989 was an American professional basketball player who plays for the Minnesota Lynx. She is currently taking a an sabbatical. In naming the team's inaugural Performer of the Year in the year 2017, Sports Illustrated called Moore the most successful winner ever in women's basketball.In high school, Moore was the National Gatorade Player of the Year, the Gatorade Female Athlete of the Year as well as a McDonald's All-American. She was a forward on the UConn women's basketball team and won back to back national championships in 2009 and 2010. After having led Connecticut to a national championship undefeated, she received the John Wooden award in 2009. Moore helped Connecticut to its second consecutive national championship. The team also continued its unbeaten streak to 78 games. In the 2010-11 campaign, she guided the Huskies to an NCAA both-gender record of 90.
