Clifford Smith Jr. (born March 2, 1971) is better known under the stage name Method Man, is an American rapper as well as songwriter, record producer, and actor. He is known as an active part of the East Coast hip hop collective Wu-Tang Clan. He also is a member of the hip-hop duo Method Man & Redman. The stage name of his group was an inspiration for the 1979 film Method Man. Smith was initially known for his performance in the film Method Man. He co-starred alongside Redman as who is a frequent collaborator from the East Coast, on the Fox sitcom Method & Red. He also appeared on three HBO series as Tug Daniels, Melvin "Cheese” Wagstaff in The Wire and Rodney in The Deuce. Method Man is also featured in The Last O.G., which is a TBS comedy.
