Sir Michael Philip Jagger, born on July 26, 1943 is an English musician and singer. He is best known for his role as singer-songwriter and lead vocalist of the rock band The Rolling Stones. His songwriting partnership with Keith Richards remains one of the most successful collaborations in music history. Jagger's career spans six years. He is widely acknowledged as one among the most influential and popular frontmen of the rock world. His distinctive voice and energetic live shows, as well as Richards' guitar style, have been the Rolling Stones' trademark throughout their career. Jagger was a celebrity in the press due to his romance and illicit drug use, and was often portrayed as a countercultural figure.Jagger was born and grew up in Dartford. He studied at the London School of Economics before abandoning his studies in order to join the Rolling Stones. Jagger has written most of the Rolling Stones' songs together with Richards and continues to perform together.
