Queen Latifah

 Dana Elaine Owens (born March 18th, 1970) also known professionally as Queen Latifah is an American actress, rapper and singer. She was born in Newark, New Jersey. In 1989, she signed with Tommy Boy Records and released her debut album All Hail the Queen, which featured the hit song "Ladies First". From 1993 to 1998 Latifah played Khadijah in the Fox sitcom Living Single as Khadijah. Her third album, Black Reign (1993), became the first album by a solo female rapper to earn Gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA),[2and also spawned the single "U.N.I.T.Y. Black Reign (1993) was her third album, was the first solo female rapper to receive an official gold certificate from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). 2 The hit single "U.N.I.T.Y." also came from the album. Her fourth album Order in the Court was released by Motown Records on June 16, 1998. She appeared in the role of the character Set it Off (1996).
