Sanaa Lathan

 American actress Sanaa McCoy Lethan was born on 19 September, 1971. She is the daughter of Eleanor McCoy, an actress as well as Stan Lathan, a film director. After appearing on the television shows In the House and Family Matters, NYPD Blue and Moesha and Moesha, her acting career began to take off. After her appearances on the series In the House Family Matters, In the House and NYPD Blue, as well as Moesha, Lathan became more famous. She also appeared in the superhero film Blade. Lathan then went into play roles in films such as Love & Basketball (2000), The Best Man (1999), Brown Sugar (2002) and Brown Sugar (2002). Lathan's Broadway performance in A Raisin in the Sun brought her an award from the Tony Awards for the Best Featured Actress in the Musical. Following this performance, Lathan was cast as Alexa "Lex" Woods in the film Alien vs. Predator. She was cast as the lead in Tyler Perry's 2008 film The Family That Preys. Lathan returned to theatre in 2010, when she appeared in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof which was an all-black production at the Novello Theatre. She also reprised her role as Robyn in The Best Man Holiday (2013) which was a sequel that was themed around Christmas to The Best Man.
