 Jewel Kilcher, born May 23rd, 1974 was an American actor, singer and songwriter. She was born on May 23rd, 1974. She is a native American actress, singer and writer. At the age of 15, when she was granted an honorary scholarship to the Interlochen Arts Academy, Michigan. She studied operatic voice. She began to perform in coffeehouses and clubs in San Diego after she graduated from high school. The local media and was offered an album deal with Atlantic Records. Pieces of You was her debut album. It would go on to become one of the most popular debut albums ever and was certified platinum 12 times. The album's debut single, "Who Will Save Your Soul" was a top 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Two singles from the album, "You Were Meant For Me" and "Foolish Games" were also included in the 1997 Year-end charts for singles. The album was then followed in 1998 by Spirit (1998). The album was released in 2003. The album marked an departure from her traditional folk albums and included electronic arrangements as well as elements of dance-pop.
