Joseph Clifford Montana Jr. was a famous American ex-quarterback. He played for 16 seasons with the National Football League (NFL) mostly with the San Francisco 49ers. Montana is often referred to as Joe Cool and the Comeback Kid is considered as one of the best quarterbacks of all time. The quarterback started his NFL career in San Francisco in 1979, which was his 14th seasons. Montana was the 49ers' Super Bowl MVP and was the first player to be the winner of four Super Bowls. Montana is the holder of Super Bowl records for most passes without interception (122 in four games) and also the highest rating for passers of 127.8. Montana was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 1993. He played the final two seasons with the team , and helped the Chiefs to win their first AFC Championship Game. In 2000, Montana was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1986, Montana won the AP NFL Comeback player of the year Award. The Associated Press named Montana the NFL MVP in 1989 and in 1990. Sports Illustrated magazine also declared Montana as the 1990 "Sportsman of the Year". 10.
