Nathan Donald Diaz, an American mixed martial artist and professional fighter, was born on April 16, 1985. He is currently an unsigned free agent. Diaz is most well-known for his participation in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) where he competed for over 15 years after winning The Ultimate Fighter 5 on July 7, 2007. Diaz was an elite contender for the lightweight division of the UFC. He fought to win the UFC Lightweight Championship in December 2012 and was in the top five of lightweight rankings throughout his UFC time. After winning against Conor McGregor in March 2016, Diaz became a star. He was forced out of the organization following a win against Tony Ferguson at UFC 279. In September 2022 the contract with UFC was up for renewal. Prior to signing with UFC, Diaz was a participant in World Extreme Cagefighting and Strikeforce. Diaz is the third highest-paid UFC bonus awards , with 16 having won 16 total. Diaz is the father of Melissa (nee Womble), and Robert Diaz. He was born in Stockton in California to his sister Nina and brother Nick.
