Salma Hayek Pinault, /'haIekor HY-ek, Spanish Salma 'xajek; born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimenez; September 2, 1966) is an American and Mexican actor and producer. Her professional career began in Mexico in the telenovela Teresa, where she was a star in the television drama Teresa (1989-1991) as well as the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) that brought her an Ariel Award nomination. In films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999), as well as Dogma (1999), Hayek quickly made her mark as a leading actress in Hollywood. She was nominated for an Academy Award in Best Actress. Hayek continued to produceand starred in action-oriented movies Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003) and After the Sunset (2004). A further commercial success was recorded through Grown Ups (2010) and Grown Ups 2 (2013).
