Colin Kaepernick

 Colin Rand Kaepernick, /'kaep@rnIk/KAP-@rnik born on November 3, 1987), is an American civil rights activist as well as a football player who is a restricted agent. He was a six-year member of the San Francisco 49ers' National Football League (NFL) team. He protested against police brutality and racial discrimination within the United States by kneeling during the National Anthem in 2016. Kaepernick played in the NCAA football tournament at the Nevada Wolf Pack. He was named the Western Athletic Conference's Offensive Player of the Year two times. He was also the first NCAA Division I player to record 10,000 yards of passing and 4,000 rushing yards in one season. Kaepernick was selected by the 49ers in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Following Smith's concussion, Kaepernick was named the 49ers quarterback of the team in the year 2012. Through the rest of the season, he served as the team's primary quarterback. He helped the team reach their first Super Bowl appearance in 1994. Kaepernick was a starter during the 49ers in 2013's season. It was his first full-time season. Kaepernick was unable to play at his quarterback position three times and the 49ers were not in the playoffs three times.
